The evil one is really working hard to find ways to destroy you and anyone that you love. You may ask why? What do you mean? Well, it is so visible today and our government has ushered it in with acceptance. I probably would never write about such a subject, but I encountered this personally. If you have an encounter, ask this question first. What does the Catholic Church say about healing stones or the occult? As Catholics we rely heavily on Church teachings and Scriptural teachings and the Catechism of the Catholic church states,” that all practices of magic or sorcery or relying on some sort of supernatural spiritual power are considered a sin. It also emphasizes that this is a sin even if the intention is for the sake of restoring health. Wearing charms should be condemned.”

Rebecca Otto of Ohio, a registered nurse and mother of six says “There are good and bad spirits, and we don’t want to put ourselves in those areas,” she says, adding that she would refrain from involvement in yoga, Reiki, acupuncture and crystals, for example. “All I’ve had to hear is a few knowledgeable people on this,” she says. “There are a few areas I don’t feel it’s worth risking my soul to venture into.” This is how someone may slip towards the occult without even realizing the danger of some of the practices.
Also, popular television priest Father Mitch Pacwa said, “This nonsense will take your soul to the other side. It’s entering enemy territory.” I want to encourage all reading to stay focused on what the Church teaches in these matters. Sometimes we feel as though a certain thing or situation will not affect us because we are strong. This is when the evil one slips that piece of pie and we bite. Be on your guard. If you our questioning yourself in this matter speak to a Catholic priest. It is better to know and remove it from your life totally.
Crystals and Relics
One of the most interesting takes with my encounter with crystals is that the person I was speaking with tried to compare the healing powers of crystals with that of a Blessed Benedict medal. At this point, I realized that something is seriously wrong. I’m not sure that he understands the Catholic Church rejects all things associated with New Age beliefs, including trendy crystals, as heretical and dangerous. At the same time, the Catholic Church embraces the veneration of relics and the use of sacramentals.
If you are reading this and you are on the fence with this subject, then you must realize you can’t do both. I was blessed to attend Mass this past week at the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Hanceville, Alabama. The priest reiterated exactly what I am writing today. Father said, ” You can’t go inside a home with Jesus and Mary pictures on the wall and a Buddha statue on the fireplace mantle with incense burning and say, “this is a Catholic home.”

2117 All practices of magic or sorcery, by which one attempts to tame occult powers, so as to place them at one’s service and have a supernatural power over others – even if this were for the sake of restoring their health – are gravely contrary to the virtue of religion.
These practices are even more to be condemned when accompanied by the intention of harming someone, or when they have recourse to the intervention of demons. Wearing charms is also reprehensible. Spiritism often implies divination or magical practices; the Church for her part warns the faithful against it. Recourse to so-called traditional cures does not justify either the invocation of evil powers or the exploitation of another’s credulity.
What are Ways to Fight Against Attacks?
First, attend Mass as often as possible. Receiving Jesus is the epitome of the victory over the evil one. Also, Eucharist Adoration is a place to share with our Lord our everyday trials and concerns. He is listening to us. Second, prayer is essential in all things. If you get that weary feeling about something it may be legit. This is when we must pray and discern. The Rosary is a powerful prayer. Our Lady is always here for us in times of trial and tribulation.
We have many beautiful devotions in our faith. Sacramentals such as holy water, blessed salt and blessed medals are a must for your home. Please, I encourage you to do these things to protect your family. Be careful in what you bring into your home, and this includes who you allow in your home. We do not know what others may be dabbling in, so be on the alert at all times. God is good and He will never abandon you so stay close to Him in all things, and you will be safe.
