The Link

The Link October 2, 2023

We are called to link together as members of the body of Christ.

1 Corinthians 12:12-13 For just as the body is one and yet has many parts, and all the parts, though many, form [only] one body, so it is with Christ. For by one [Holy] Spirit we were all baptized into one body, [spiritually transformed—united together] whether Jews or Greeks (Gentiles), slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one [Holy] Spirit [since the same Holy Spirit fills each life].

God created the body of Christ to have many members. Although there are many parts, we make up the whole body. We are united together as we spiritually transform in Christ.

Our relationship with one another is like a link. We stay connected through prayer and unity. The biblical definition of a link is anything, whether material or not, that binds together, which creates a connected series and bond.

Ephesians 4:16 From Him the whole body [the church, in all its various parts], joined and knitted firmly together by what every joint supplies, when each part is working properly, causes the body to grow and mature, building itself up in [unselfish] love.

Linked means we have a relationship, connection, and association with one another. Many things link us together as members of the body of Christ, but prayer is the main thing that keeps us connected and in unity.

Prayer, the Catalyst

James 5:16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another [your false steps, your offenses], and pray for one another, that you may be healed and restored. The heartfelt and persistent prayer of a righteous man (believer) is able to accomplish much [when put into action and made effective by God—it is dynamic and can have tremendous power].

Prayer is the catalyst for our breakthroughs. In the book of Acts, collective prayer and worship put the visions, miracles, healings, and deliverance into action. Prayer is the offering of our desires to God through the name of Jesus Christ. It is also the communion of the heart as guided by the Holy Spirit. When we pray, we offer petitions, requests, and supplications.

As we build a steady communication with God in prayer, we begin to petition God on behalf of our affairs while here on earth. The book of James says to pray for one another, an act of intercession. When we intercede, we are intervening on behalf of another. Our prayers should be effectual, successful, and powerful. They should be productive and produce much fruit.

I encourage you to link with others in the body of Christ. Do not neglect to assemble yourselves as you see the day approaching. Everything is all about having a strong link.
